CAT Practitioner or CAT supervisor training

Get ANZACAT accredited with this 2-year psychotherapy course combining 100 hours of workshops and theoretical learning through a blend of self-paced modules, live online seminars, experiential mapping practice and reflective assessment tasks.

Enhance your psychotherapy skills

CAT brings together the humanistic, dynamic and cognitive parts of therapy. It is a model that is accessible, practical and creative and allows you to integrate it into your exiting frameworks. It’s not a replacement modality but works particularly well alongside other ways of working with clients, such as CBT, DBT and EMDR. Psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, social workers and counsellors can all benefit from learning CAT.

CAT training might just be the answer you’re looking for if:

  • the people you’re working with aren’t improving
  • you feel stuck and unsupported by the old therapeutic models you work within
  • you want to use yourself therapeutically in the therapeutic relationships but don’t have a model
  • you’re tired of ‘sticking to the script’ as prescribed in traditional therapy manuals.

Think of CAT as a reliable, creative thread you can weave into your existing CBT, DBT or MBT practice to help those who are not getting their desired results.

Teaching for today

We’re not some stuffy ‘chalk and talk’ institution. We teach in ways that reflect today’s world. That’s why all our training materials are designed for maximum impact and allow for different learning styles. For example, you may do some prescribed reading, watch a video module and either write a report or record your response in a video. There are chat groups where you can ask your peers questions and online forums for you to discuss your studies with a professional network across the globe.
We also teach CAT for use across the age spectrum – not just youth or about particular ‘disorders’. All our trainers/teachers use CAT in their direct work (counselling/therapy role) and/or in their indirect work through consulting or running reflective practice using the CAT ‘spirit’. CAT is a truly transdiagnostic therapy.
